Teqcon is a South African mechanical and electronic design company that specializes in the design and development of perimeter detection devices. Established in 1998, Teqcon supplies wired detection equipment to sites where security is of utmost importance. This includes prisons, airports, nuclear facilities, estates and military bases; both local and abroad. Leveraging on the experience gained in these applications, Teqcon has launched a wireless perimeter intrusion detection system – named Wi-i. Wi-i is specifically designed with the end user and installer in mind. All devices are battery-operated, with a typical battery lifespan of 4 years. Easily configured, no cabling or infrastructure deployment required, Wi-i is the answer where perimeter security is of utmost importance.

Teqcon Products:

  • Wi-i Tremoli: This device is an intelligent detection unit that measures fence behavior. Each Tremoli runs its own detection algorithm, profiling intrusions and discounting environmental effects. Tremolis are installed at regular intervals on the fence, each one detecting intrusions in its area.

    The Tremoli detects climbing, break through and cutting of various fence structures.

  • Wi-i Deflexi: This device consists of a detection unit, with 1 or 2 sensor beams. The sensor beam(s) is attached to the fence wires that will be monitored. The Deflexi thus monitors the attached wires for spreading, cutting and propping up.

    The Deflexi detection unit has several advantages over traditional surveillance measures. As a standalone system, no better single intrusion detection solution is available. Used in conjunction with existing systems (such as energisers and CCTV surveillance systems), Deflexi amplifies these systems by adding minimal nuisance alarm instances and high probability of intrusion detection, without incurring additional costs for infrastructure.
